With all the plans of the Mediterranean adventure put on covid diversion it was time for another Nellie 111 trip. Passports packed, with no particular itinerary we headed off in Ado’s car to collect Mitch and re join the boat in Plymouth where we left it a few weeks previously.
We rocked up at Mitchs house around 12 only to find that the fine provisioning fare Mitch had purchased for the boat and had left in the car was now at Dartmouth Golf and Country Club as Tommy had buggered off to play golf in the car! So, the trip was on …via a detour to the Dartmouth golf club (where we caught up with Tommy on the 5th hole! He was not having the best of games…oh dear) oh and another detour into the Dartmouth Sainsburys where a large trolley was duly filled with mainly alcohol…..er I mean more boat provisions!
John put a call into the Dolphin pub on the way down …..The Bass was on!! A joyous moment indeed and a few samples were checked out later on that evening a perfect way to start and as it turned out, to end the trip as well.
We arrived at Queen Anne Marina circa 1500 to find the engineers unable to fit the newly repaired wind generator and after figuring out the battery charge..or lack of it, it was Bass time.
Back onboard for one of Mitchs delicious curries.
